I Paint therefore I am:
Painting is my high place. Spontaneity and serendipity are welcome guests.
I channel gesture, colour and emotion in a free state of mind, often taking cues from the music I listen to.
It is both my play and my work. I just love the visual, physical, emotional and intellectual rewards that painting gives me.
For me painting is all about finding the inventor within; for ever LOOKING to find a new way forward with the paint.
I hope that by learning from the past and always pushing forward, my work might reach a place that is yet uncharted.
So here in sleepy Ashburton, Devon, I feel at home and I am ready.

Buckfast Abbey Summer Exhibititon: Five pieces are currently on show at the Grange Restaurant at the Abbey. Open 10am - 5pm daily. Cream teas are very nice lol

The paint is the Narrative: A short film a made a few years back showing the way I work. I tend to work fast, wet on wet oils. I work to the rhythm and emotion in music and let the painting grow and evolve. I am just jazzing with paint...
Mike Juggins - Visual Jazz
"The apparently straight forward representation of the visible world is a facade for what lies behind it - intricate patterned shadows which dissolve into cubic forms then simply melt into the background.
The repeated images - a glimpse of a surreal world hiding behind Matisse vases, Picasso doves and Mikes' archways.
The figurative, the cubic and the abstract, all jostle in his canvasses for prominence. I am fascinated by the result."

Last Xmas I made this image for a friend. She gave it to her dyslexic son as a gift. It was fun to work in Acrylic and on other subject matter.
