Mike Juggins
Fun Stuff
"The Mother" is the name of the painting this drawing of me is looking at.
It was the first time I had worked in oils, way back in 1995 and I knew I was in love.
It became my starting point when I picked up the brush again seriously in 2004 to start the Jazz.
The collection "Visual Jazz" took on a life of its own but as you can see this painting had an influence.
Mike Juggins - Visual Jazz
"The apparently straight forward representation of the visible world is a facade for what lies behind it - intricate patterned shadows which dissolve into cubic forms then simply melt into the background.
The repeated images - a glimpse of a surreal world hiding behind Matisse vases, Picasso doves and Mikes' archways.
The figurative, the cubic and the abstract, all jostle in his canvasses for prominence. I am fascinated by the result."

Top Banna
This is a copy of a large painting I made in 2002
called Top Banna.
I painted over it in 2005 as I needed a big canvas. I wanted to take the Jazz
to full abstraction.
My daughter Rosie was not happy about this and wished I hadn't...
So I re-painted it for her 18th birthday.
I like pop art...

Hi world
Life has taught me many things.
None more important than the following
3 pearls:
Treat others as you would like to be treated yourself.
Be TRUE to yourself and focus on ability.
Always find time to play.
Kind Regards Mike x

Why 20 grand for just one beutiful painting... ?
The years of struggle and pain from the good fight came at a cost and 20g would sort that out.
This painting showed me what I am here for after 2 years away (from real deep painting) back in 2008.
I love it... That and it is better than any Hirst!
