Much of my community arts work in the past is in recognition of the struggle of many people to succeed in the education system. My own experiences has led me to understand what learning is and the many ways it can be achieved. I have worked with the charity Voices From The Margins for many years... www.voicesfromthemargins.co.uk
I have also tried to positively influence policy and practice regards dyslexia and the arts. I feel that I have much to offer as an artist, educator and filmmaker to the whole community. I strongly believe that each individual has real potential for personal, emotional and intellectual growth through working creatively with the arts.
I have worked often with individuals at the margins of society. Maybe at risk of exclusion or tuned out from learning. Working with such groups of young people has had many positive outcomes, reinforcing my belief that ability follows enthusiasm.
My own creative practice and how working with others influences it provides a constant base for mutual learning opportunities... Ability follows enthusiasm!
